Forest Bathers 2018

Exhibited in the Brunswick Nature Sculpture Walk 2018 under the title 'You know you're soaking in it'.

The effects of spending time away from urbanized space and in the company of the forest is now recognised as having powerful physical and psychological health benefits. The Japanese call it shinrin-yoku or forest-bathing and suggest you walk amongst the trees without distraction or hurry for two hours or more. This work explores a hybridity of figurative sculpture, poetry and environment. It imagines the slow and gentle release of stress and deep-seated feelings through the skin while forest bathing.
